Yin + Restorative

Initial centering followed by yin-style Yoga asana practice, a pre-savasana restorative pose or sequence, ending with savasana.

Props:  2 blocks, strap or band, blanket, bolster

Feel free to improvise (i.e., bolster substitutes: bolster-like pillows, bed pillows or roll up two or three blankets)

Yoga

Yoga asana practice, ending with savasana. Asana practice is more strength and stability focused - more slow-flow than 'vinyasa'-style.

Props:  2 blocks, strap/belt/tie and blanket or pillows to pad knees, etc.

Metta Meditation

The guided metta meditation practice will be preceded by lovingkindness themed discussion and questions. The practice itself may not vary much week to week, as my practice is pretty consistent.

Props: whatever you need to sit comfortably for an extended period of time (chair, bolster, cushion, blocks, blanket, etc. or whatever combo serves you best). Lying down is also a great option.

Ball Rolling Myofascial Release + Stretching

Initial centering followed by a combination of ball rolling and stretching, ending with a 5-minute savasana.

Props: two rubber balls, blocks, blanket, strap or band, and wall to roll against and for stretching. A clean sock long enough to hold them side by side can also be helpful at times.

I use the following type of Yoga Tune Up Balls (3 color options): Aqua Blue, Purple, and Green

Honor the transition from spring to summer with a rejuvenating self-care tuneup. Through a practice of self massage and stretching, we will strengthen our self-awareness and empower self-care. Get in touch with yourself on a deeper (myofascial) level, release tension and stress, and start the summer with more openness and freedom.
